Nigeria dictated proceedings seamlessly until defender Elizabeth Adesuyi received a straight red card shortly before the hour mark. Ghana immediately exploited their numerical superiority, with Seidatu Wahab reducing the deficit just four minutes later.

Late clinical strikes seal convincing derby winNigeria restored their comfortable two-goal cushion when Mary Dunstan capitalised on a costly Ghanaian defensive error. Kaosarat Akanji then added Nigeria’s fourth goal three minutes from time, effectively ending Ghana’s comeback hopes.
Gloria Ameaa scored a late second goal for Ghana right on the 90th minute mark. However, the consolation strike came too late to prevent the ten-man Flamingos from securing a memorable 4–2 victory.
